Jenny Monks has been awarded both a B.A. in Textile Design and a Higher Diploma in art education from N.C.A.D, Dublin.  She is currently teaching costume, design & textiles at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa, College of Further Education, Cork. In her textile work, Jenny constructs her pieces by layering hand stitch qualities with machine stitch. The imagery portrays family life with nostalgia and intrigue. Jenny pursues narrative elements in her work with cherished collected fabrics embedding memories in each piece.
