Julian is one of Ireland's foremost Raku artists. Raku is an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 16th century, whereby work is removed from the kiln red-hot before being placed in a container with combustible materials creating striking colours using metallic oxides. He creates one off cast and hand built ceramic pieces and a small number of thrown shapes.
