Polly studied Fine Art at Brighton University and achieved a BA Honors Degree in Fine Art in 2002. After a career in costume design she moved to West Cork and was inspired by the natural and dramatic landscape of the area to pick up a paintbrush again.

Polly says "I have no preconceived goal in a painting, I simply try to represent what I see, my work is a direct response to the world around me. I try to utilize techniques that are open to spontaneity, like the fluidity of ink and charcoal, I like the balance of light and strong mark making". Polly aims to evoke a strong sense of place, the nature of West Cork and wonderful energy that exists in this special corner of Ireland.
