Born in Newry in 1961 Sean studied art at Belfast College of Art, London College of Printing and the Slade School, University College London in throughout the 80's. He was awarded the Pankerd-Jones Prize in 1986 and 1987.  

Sean has an international reputation for his powerful series of photomontage works that address serious and thought provoking topics with a unique use of humour.
