Originally from the West Midlands, UK, Sharon now lives and works in West Cork. She graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London with a BA degree in Embroidery & Textiles in 1986 and developed her artistic style through installation and performance art. In her most recent work Sharon is exploring painting as a medium as a departure from creating installations and sculpture.

The works currently on display here at 2020 Art Gallery are part of the ‘Forbidden Territory’ series. This series is based on the nature of emotional response, incorporating images, colour and text as the media for expression. For Sharon words have always been an integral part of the creative process, the word informing the visual and vice versa.
