Sonia qualified as an Arts and Empowerment Facilitator from Crawford College of Art & Design in 2003 and her work in this field as well as her extensive travels through Africa have influenced the development of her artistic approach. She works in many mediums but favours stone and paint. In sculpture she mostly deals with the figure and likes to explore ways to bring movement to the stone. Sonia's work has been exhibited extensively in both solo and group shows throughout Ireland.
