Born in Germany in 1975 and now living in West Cork, Stefan studied photography at the Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany and further advanced his studies at the Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, Scotland where he received a masters degree in Fine Arts & Photography. He has worked at the prestigious Magnum photo agency in New York and has exhibited in many solo and group shows in Germany, France, UK & Ireland, as a result his work forms part of many public and private collections and has been published in national media. Stefan uses the medium of photography to subvert the fleeting nature of the natural world around us, "by capturing a moment in time it lasts forever", Stefan suggests, "the outcome gets a life of it's own, something different from reality"
